Kathak Kendra Outgoing Students' Batch 2022 - 2023

ADMISSION IS CLOSSED FOR THE SESSION 2023-24

The admission process starts every year from June 1st for both Elementary and Advance Course. Applications are only accepted online with relevant documents and Admission Fee. Applicants would be scrutinized for the pre-admission test and the selected candidates are admitted to the appropriate training course purely on the basis of merit and availability of seats. 

Entry Level Requirements

Elementary Course

The Elementary Course consist of a five years Foundation Course and a three years Diploma Pass Course. These courses channelise the talent and interest in youngsters towards a serious study of an art form. It further equips the learner with a strong foundation required to study Kathak at a professional level in the Advanced courses. These classes are held thrice a week from 2:30 pm to 7:30 pm.  

FOUNDATION COURSE (1st Year):

  • Age: 10 to 15 years as on June 1st.

  • Education: In continuing school education, having completed Class III

  • Language & Communication: Appropriate ability to convers, read and write in Hindi or English.

  • An average sense of rhythm and music and ability to express it through movement of the body and facial expression.

  • Prior exposure of training in Kathak dance.  

DIPLOMA (PASS) COURSE (1st Year):

  • Age: 15 to 20 years as on June 1st.

  • Education: In continuing school education, having completed Class IX

  • Language & Communication: Appropriate ability to convers, read and write in Hindi or English.

  • An average sense of rhythm and music and ability to express it through movement of the body and facial expression.

  • Prior experience or interest in any other art form such as music, theatre, visual arts, etc.  

Advanced Course

The Advanced Course consist of a three year Diploma Honours Course and a two year Post Diploma Course. The courses are designed with an intent to create an accomplished exponent, whose art is well supported by an in-depth understanding of music, theoretical studies and yoga. 

 

A full-time engagement is mandatory for the students who pursue the Advance courses. The daily
